In regards to the OP's post. I agree whole heartedly with your sentiments about leechers. But, I must say that I am glad about the event, even without double faction, just for the fact that it will finnally make it possible to get enough players into Jade Quarry to play and explore. I have only been able to get in once in 3 months, and that was because my alliance split up and played both sides.
As far as getting faction I prefer AB (Alliance Battles) because they can only be accessed from the guild hall, which tends to screen out leechers. Plus, it is easier to make 10K than FA or JQ. 1250 per win vice 650. I have earned more for a loss in AB than for wins at FA. And, yes I do realize that this is not an option for people that are not in a guild.
I had to play Fort Aspenwood before I was in a guild. At first I hated even being in a team with a leecher and working to earn them faction for doing nothing. 3 months later, I could care less, as it has become obvious there is no "fix" coming anytime soon. So I just use it to work on builds. If we win we win, if we lose we lose. I get something positive out of it either way, a better build. It's only a game, and I'm not going to let Anet's lack of concern about leechers ruin my real day...

Neo Nugget: The PvP character access to the two missions will be introduced at this weekend's event and will remain thereafter.

Aren't there leechers in RA ? I thought there were, and if so, I'm sure PvPers are used to it. I wouldn't say they should feel annoyed at having been invited to a substandard playing experience. We were all invited to the Nightfall PvP weekend, and I'm sure some of us tried it and quickly decided to just go back to what we were doing before, without getting annoyed. It's not that big a deal. If they don't like Ft. Aspenwood or Jade Quarry, they simply will resume their normal gameplay. Why get annoyed ?

I agree also..
But I expect ANET will do sweet FA about it.
I will try not to get annoyed.. but I will eventually.
As for Jade Quarry.. well, yea I hope people will play there also, and after the event I think they should STICK with the double faction at Jade..
It must be terribly disapointing for the guy who designed Jade quarry to know that noone EVER plays his map.

Well, if you were a leecher, would you leech at Ft. Aspenwood or Jade Quarry, where you can barely ever get in?

You actually believe what you're saying? If you know so much about PvP, why is it that you have no bearing on what this issue really is. Maybe you PvP a little too much.
The fact I'm getting at is this: whether you win or lose, your team (if they fight) will still gain Faction. This means that if you just sit around in the spawn area for your team to win, you will get ALL faction rewards (including stuff from kills). This of course means that people will program a bot (or actually sit there) that makes them enter the battle whenever possible.
Sure you may think leachers in RA are bad, but usually their team will just lose and they get maybe 20 faction before being killed. That, last time I checked, is a waste of time, the reward is unpredicable, and usually bad.
All that said, this weekend is just asking for complete and total abuse. Just like the past weekends, it will have a large aspect of dumb people, ethcally challenged people, and just plain ***holes. We all (most of us at least) want to have a fair and fun time, but that will of course be thrown off by the types of people mentioned above.
A frankly don't see why they have a sudden need to have a special weekend EVERY weekend. Are they trying to find all the problems with all the parts of the game? If not, they might want to add that to their list, because these events make it much easier to notice them.

There aren't that many "PvP-only" people, you know...
I'm in a PvP guild and out of 12 of us... *gasp* all 12 play at least some PvE. I'm sure everyone has been to aspenwood and quarry and tried them. We just decided it's not very interesting and left them alone. Double faction probably won't change that much.

Disagree. I'm in a PvP guild and the only reason any of us PvE are for getting charaters to PvP with.
In fact, most of my guild has never played FA before.

The problem for leechers is that if they leech in Jade Quarry and their team doesn't score as a result, they will get much less faction than they would if they leeched in Fort Aspenwood. Losing team's reward in Fort Aspenwood seems to be based on time elapsed, and even for a Kurzick leecher the NPCs provide a reasonable barrier to allow for some faction to accrue. Jade Quarry, on the other hand, bases its reward to the losing team on participation, something the leecher can't accomplish by definition.
I very much hope Jade Quarry remains accessible to PvP characters even after this weekend. It's an incredibly fun map to play, much more on par with alliance battles than with Fort Aspenwood. Hopefully, this weekend's even is just what's needed to boost its population.

RA and PvP?
RA is only used if you don't have any friends/guildies to do decent PvP: HA, TA or GvG. RA is just to test some new builds and you don't wanna embarrass yourself in front of your friends when you find out that W/N frenzy+saccing isn't a great idea......

I'll be MMing on the Luxon side. If you see my name, Syria Blackblood (and my patented battle cry), chances are you are going to lose.
Anyways, with with leecher problem, I do think it's an ArenaNet ploy to draw them out...

While I agree there will be leachers, I do not think Anet should postpone or cancel the weekend. It's going to happen. Moaning will not change anything. If it really bothers you, don't go to either map ths weekend.
You know what I'd really like to see? Something like, "hey Anet, thanks for having all these events to keep players interested in the game" Instead, people have to moan and bitch everytime Anet tries to do something fun.
